Privacy Policy

This policy applies to all personal data processed by Selin Legal that is attributable to Selin Legal's potential and existing clients/principals, suppliers or candidates. In all these relationships, Selin Legal will obtain, register, store, organize, process, compile, use, present, delete or otherwise process personal data. You as a reader of this policy only need to read the part of this section 2 that refers to the category to which you belong.

Selin Legal collects (from, for example, public sources, through sharing/registration of information on the website, information from the website or through recommendations from people in our network) and stores personal data about you, as a contact person or key person for your company or other type of organization. We collect personal data about you, for example, in the form of your name, your title/position within the company/organization and your contact information, and register this information in our internal systems. We collect this information to be able to inform you about, offer and market Selin Legal and Selin Legal's services. Our basis for this processing of your personal data is that we, after a balancing of interests, have concluded that the processing appears justified for Selin Legal to be able to market its services.

If you choose to hire Selin Legal to perform any of the services that Selin Legal offers, we will process your name, your title/position within the company/organization, your contact information and any additional personal data to the extent we need to be able to fulfill the service agreement. This processing is based on the fact that we, after a balancing of interests, have concluded that it is justified for Selin Legal to be able to live up to its obligations in the delivery of requested services and exercise its rights under the agreement.

Your personal data will be processed internally within Selin Legal, which means processing within policy and law also for companies in the group and only if they have their own purposes. Furthermore, your personal data will be processed by our IT suppliers/data processors who provide our databases and IT services. We will enter into data processing agreements with these and they will be bound to process personal data according to GDPR.

Our processing of your personal data will cease if you have objected to our processing and we have not identified any support to continue it or when our purpose with the processing of your personal data ceases.

Selin Legal acquires and stores personal information about you, as a contact person for your company or other type of organization. Selin Legal collects and stores the personal data because we need it for the implementation of the agreement with the company or organization to which you belong. The processing is based on the fact that Selin Legal, after a balancing of interests, has concluded that it is justified for Selin Legal to be able to live up to its obligations and exercise its rights under the supplier agreement.

Our processing of your personal data will cease when our purpose with the processing ceases.

Candidates are persons whose personal data is processed by Selin Legal because the candidate may be interesting for ongoing recruitments and future recruitments that Selin Legal handles on behalf of its clients. Recruitment includes the following: executive search, candidate network, referral recruitment and interim recruitment.

Your personal data can come from you directly (by you sending in your CV, making an expression of interest for a role or otherwise contacting us) or by us otherwise collecting personal data about you (via other Selin Legal companies, people in our network or via publicly available channels such as social media or corporate and other websites).

When we collect personal data from sources other than directly from you, we will only collect and register such personal data that is relevant for the assessment of your suitability for a current position and potential future positions. Which information is relevant is assessed on a case-by-case basis based on the customer's requirements and preferences. Personal data that is classified as sensitive will only be processed after obtaining special consent from you regarding such processing.

In cases where our processing of your personal data is initiated by you sending your data to us, or we receive your personal data from another company within Selin Legal that processes your data according to consent from you, all our processing will be based on consent from your side. Note that we do not require sharing of more sensitive information that is not relevant to the services that Selin Legal offers and we therefore urge you not to share more information with us than necessary. In other cases when our processing of your personal data is initiated before we (or any other Selin Legal company) have been in contact with you, by us collecting and registering personal data about you from a source other than from you personally, our initial processing takes place based on a balancing of interests. In connection with this balancing of interests, we have assessed that we have a legitimate interest in processing the personal data in order to be able to carry out our recruitment assignment in a good way and be able to present several good candidates. The personal data that is collected from other sources before we have been in contact with you will be limited and only aim to create an overall picture of your suitability for the current position and these can be deleted at any time upon request.

The longer your name remains in a recruitment process, the more we will nuance and deepen our knowledge about you and ensure your qualifications for the current position and future positions as part of our long-term career network. We do this, for example, through: (i) interviews over the phone and in person (both with you and any reference persons) which are then summarized by us; and (ii) mappings of your education, merits and personal characteristics in relation to the client's stated requirement profile, as well as your personal thoughts on what you find interesting and what upcoming challenges in your career you are seeking. Subsequently, we will obtain in-depth references about your performance and your way of working, which are also summarized by us. Information from interviews, references, and tests is only saved in accordance with the time it is relevant for the specific recruitments they concerned, but general information that has been shared regarding long-term career is saved longer. Note that information about contact with us, participation and interest in roles is saved to be able to provide the best possible relevant future contact with us as a career partner.

In addition to your personal data being processed by Selin Legal who need to have access to it in order to fulfill our assignment/purpose towards the client and towards you as a candidate and that your personal data is sent to our clients (according to the description above), your personal data will only be processed by our IT suppliers/data processors who provide our databases unless you have given us special consent to other processing of your personal data. We enter into data processing agreements with our IT suppliers and they will be bound to process personal data according to GDPR. Furthermore, your personal data may be distributed to other companies within Selin Legal, if we assess that your profile is interesting for recruitment processes carried out by such other Selin Legal companies.

Provided that you have given consent to it, we will retain your personal data in our internal systems even after the completed recruitment process in the capacity of career partner and network. This is to be able to evaluate and contact you as a candidate for future recruitment assignments that fit your profile. However, we will delete such personal data that we consider were specific to the previous client and which we therefore have no reason to retain, as mentioned above. Your personal data will remain until you withdraw your consent or our purpose with our processing otherwise ceases. In addition to this, personal data that we consider has become outdated, and therefore will not be relevant in upcoming recruitment processes, will be removed over time.

If you do not have an interest in continued contact with us in your career, you need to inform us that consent ceases after contact. Your personal data will be deleted as soon as you cease to be a candidate (either by you being assigned the current position, or that we and the client proceed with other candidates) and there is also no other reason for us to retain your personal data (e.g. to protect us against claims).

Regarding processing of your personal data based on consent, you can at any time inform us that your consent, in whole or in part, ceases, by using the following email address: info@selinlegal.se. As soon as you inform us that your consent ceases and it can be reliably and securely certified your person, we will delete all your personal data that the withdrawal concerns.

Selin Legal takes appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against accidental or illegal destruction or accidental loss, alteration, unauthorized dissemination or access, especially if the processing includes transmission of data in a network, and against any other illegal form of processing. The security measures taken to protect personal data will be proportionate to the risk of damage considering the type of protected data. We have high security on our work tools and systems and all employees must follow instructions to ensure safe processing and correct actions in case of error (such as loss of work tools).

By reliably and securely certifying your person, you can request a copy of your data to check that the data is correct.

You have the right to correct incorrect information about you or complete information that is not complete.

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data if it is no longer necessary for our purpose behind the processing and we have no obligation to retain the data to any extent.

You have the right to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted if: (i) you consider that personal data is incorrect and we need a certain time to check this (the restriction then takes place during the time the check takes place); (ii) the processing lacks legal basis or is no longer necessary for our purpose but you do not want your personal data to be deleted; or (iii) you have made an objection to the processing and we need a certain time to make such a check as referred to in the next paragraph (the restriction then takes place during the time the check takes place).

You have the right to object to processing of personal data that is only based on a "balancing of interests". In such objections, you should state why the objection is made and we will, after the objection, make a check whether your reasons behind the objection outweigh the legitimate interest on which we base our processing. In cases where we have stated that your personal data is processed for direct marketing, you have the right to object to the processing at any time and we shall then cease our processing for this purpose.
